Parks, gardens and open spaces

There are 126 parks in Fife, and our major parks such as Pittencrieff Park in Dunfermline, Riverside Park in Glenrothes, Craigtoun Park in St. Andrews and Beveridge Park in Kirkcaldy offer a range of amenities including boating ponds, bouncy castles, bowling greens, football pitches, play areas, putting greens and tennis courts.

Balbirnie Park in Markinch boasts a remarkable rhododendron collection, an exotic tree collection and beautiful woodland walks. The Botanic Garden in St Andrews is one of the town's hidden gems. You can stroll by sheltered paths through large plantings of trees and shrubs; enjoy the ponds, waterfall, rock garden and glasshouses.

Fife Council manage, inspect and maintain a wide range of open spaces and parks within Fife including a range of play areas.  We also provide floral carpet bedding schemes and seasonal ornamental flower beds.

Events can be held in the parks around Fife and you can get an event application form from any of the Council’s Local Offices. With an ongoing Quality of Life programme, we are improving existing play equipment to meet new European health and safety standards.
