Support and Advice for Business
Businesses can get advice, practical support and grants to help them locate, grow and prosper in Fife.
The services include:
- Business Gateway, a single point of contact for business information and advisory services for start-up and growing businesses.
- Programmes to help businesses train their workforce so they have the skills they need to meet the changing needs of the Fife economy
- Community-based programmes to regenerate local areas and create new jobs
- A portfolio of office and industrial property to lease, and land for development
- Economic information to help them make the right decisions for their business
- Trading Standards advice to protect them from unfair trading practices
- Environmental Services' Business Support team (Health & Safety) can provide free advice and presentations on a wide range of issues relating to health and safety at work
- Access to grants and loans to help grow your business
We’re also responsible for enforcing the laws and regulations which affect many businesses, for example:
- Issuing licences for animal boarding, dog breeding and horse riding establishments, betting and gaming premises, ice cream manufacturers and butcher shops
- Making sure businesses are trading legally so consumers are protected
- Advising on health and safety regulations
One of the priorities in our Community Plan is to make Fife an attractive business location for the financial services industry.
